Freelance Customers

In 1994, after having held corporate secretarial jobs for many years and then an Advanced Word Processor position
since 1990 - I left the ice and snow of Denver to get acquainted with my two sisters in the relatively balmy Bay Area.

An unexpected surprise was that Verna was at a turning point for her consulting business. She needed help with workshop materials and presentations - because she had bought a color printer! This was heady stuff for us, and I began to learn
about freelancing. I have never actively marketed myself, not tried to support myself this way, and have worked several corporate jobs since then.

Also, my direct customers on this page, were Verna's colleagues first. They saw my work as she traveled the globe and when they had a need for my kind of services, they became my customers and friends as well.

I have supported these international consultants with materials in Word - training materials, reports, article drafts,
marketing materials, and more. I have also designed and formatted a few websites and many presentations, including
the use of multiple masters in PowerPoint 2003. Information about the materials is on other pages, but this page is about the people.

Logos are my creations - not the best use of my skills. Some links for Verna, Oliver, and John go to the Websites page because that is the more appropriate place for some of my thoughts.

Verna Allee

Verna, Verna Allee Associates, is recognized worldwide as a pioneer in value networks, intangible assets, and new business models. Through her own global value network she consults with a wide variety of organizations, including Cisco and Boeing - and I won't bore you here with a list of her customers. Please visit her website - which I recently gave a complete facelift.

She is President of the new Value Networks LLC, which is a partnership with Oliver Schwabe and Ken Vanosky.

Her ValueNet Works™ methodology is being widely adopted by organizations and purposeful networks as a foundational method for understanding complex adaptive organizations and value creation.

Example - Boeing Flight Test and Validation

Boeing Flight Test Operations & Validation organization of 3500 people uses VNA and system dynamics extensively to define the needed roles, flowpaths, interactions, and relationships need to achieve stunning increases in productivity.

I live with Verna, my sister, and we actually talk like this around the house. Things seem much more normal when we talk to the
3 cats, 6 finches, and 6 lovebirds.

We also have the very good fortune to have a hummingbird and jays
in our deck and garden area.

And within a few yards are deer, a flock of wild turkeys, raccoons, an owl, and a fox.

I began working with Steve around 2002, supporting him and Verna in a research project for the Global Reporting Initiative: Network Development in South Africa. Then I formatted large reports for him, and helped with GAN-Net's newsletter before
it became web-based.

You will find more about Steve on this site:

A bit about some editing I did for conference materials is here.
